SummerLove.
It’s that time of the year again.
All hail Cupid and his warm, dubious snare,
No it’s not February, all those romances in vain,
Shining down on new lovers, a magnified glare,
It’s just another Summer day.
Everything seems to be falling in place so perfectly.
Seems like you and I are here to stay,
The perfect time for chances, spontaneity.
So we take a chance,
Loving the feeling, my mind races, rants
Walking towards the sunset, all it took was a dance,
I realized I was falling, too quick perhaps?
But I shook the feeling away,
Everything seemed to be falling in place so perfectly.
Seems like you and I are here to stay,
I gave in to the feeling of being loved, complacency.
And so a month passed, thinking of all the passion, the fun
We missed each other, physically distant,
But we kept in touch, talking of great memories under the sun,
We were in the others life only vicariously, yet still present.
And then the dreaded month finally came to an end,
We were once again back together,
Or so we thought as we tried to mend
Those broken strings, trying to make things the way they were,
But the Summer’s over and everything seemed eerily like a dream
You’re finally awake, and it’s sad to hear you say,
Honey the summer’s over and so are we.
But everything had seemed to be falling in place so perfectly.
Seemed like you and I were here to stay, was it so really?
